For too long the "shot and beer" order has been the exclusive province of the dive bar, matching tasteless american adjunct-lagers with certain, um, "Tennessee Sipping Whiskeys."
No longer will we stand for this aggression against the palate! On November 20, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., the Independent Brewing Company and Wigle Whiskey restore the dignity of a spirit-beer combination, serving four courses of a finely-crafted spirits paired with a finely-crafted beers, all enjoyed over a four-course meal presented by Independent Brewing Company's executive chef, Monique Ruvolo. This four-course pairing menu is ticketed and costs $65, including gratuity. Each course will include a taster of Wigle's "Whim" series of experimental whiskey paired with a local craft beer curated by the Independent, a course by Chef Monique, and, the Pièce de résistance, a side of a record from the IBC's vinyl collection (how do you pair music with great whiskey, beer, and food? We're going to find out).
