We’re excited for you to join us for the second installment of our monthly pairing dinners. On Monday, October 29th, our Executive Chef Jamilka Borges will join forces with our very own Certified Sommelier Max Stein to host a five-course paired wine dinner featuring women-owned and operated vineyards and wineries.

Chef Jamilka Borges was recognized by the James Beard Foundation in 2015 as a Rising Star Semifinalist and was honored as Best Chefs America's Rising Star Chef. In 2016 was named Starchefs Rising Star for the Rustbelt Region. In 2018 she was named Pittsburgh Magazine Chef of the Year, recognizing her commitment with her community, culinary skills and voluntarism.

Max Stein, is the head bartender for our sibling restaurant Hidden Harbor and curates the wine programs for both the Independent and our sibling bar Lorelei. Earlier this year he was certified as a sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers

Chef Borges and Max will be on hand during the dinner to introduce the wine and food with each course. This combination of talent is sure to make for a fun and delicious evening.
